Things you need to know

STK Whelping Services

  • Bottle/Tube feed is an additional fee of $500. If your female does not produce milk you will be charged this fee.
  • C- Sections can be scheduled with my veterinarian. My staff will be there to assist.
  • C-Section must be prepaid at time of drop-off. there is a $100 C-section fee for time and travel.
  • If natural birth is the option you choose for your dam, the fee will be $250
  • Payment for deposit can be made via cashapp ($SHARDAET36), Apple Pay, Cash or Credit Card. Receipts/Invoice will be provided.
  • Prices do not include supplies to whelp puppies such as milk, supplements, food, vitamins, veterinarian care, etc. These costs are the owner's responsibility.
  • A $250 deposit is required for whelping services. this deposit is non-refundable but will be applied to your final balance. The holding fee s to secure your dog's/puppy's upcoming stay. The remaining balance is to paid in two payments. 1/2 is to be paid at dropoff to STK and the remaining 1/2 must be paid the day before picking up puppies.
  • Puppies are unable to leave until all expenses are paid in full.
  • If puppies are not picked up by arrangement date, there will be a charge of $10 a day per puppy added to the fnal invoice.

Whelping services must be arranged no less than 2 weeks prior to the date of arrival. Drop off available one week prior to whelping date. A holding fee in the amount of $250 is due when booking.

Emergency Whelping Service

$300 along with regular fees.

Emergency whelping services are available for owners/ dog breeders that did not schedule services two weeks in advance. Services include the following.

  • Oyxgen Concentrator, Incubator, Aspirator, Nebulizer, Heat Lamp or Mat, Life Saver, Life Drops, Liver Water, Calcium Supplements, Swimmer Foot Treatment, IV Fluids, Tube Feeding, Syringe Feeding, Bottle Feeding, 24hr CCTV, Daily Weighing, Vet Bedding, Litter Pads, Collars
  • Assist Puppys with Transition to mush/solid food
  • Potty Training Weaning (Depending on length of stay)

Your female dog and puppies will be isolated from other dogs and any human visitors. You may visit your female dog and pupies but we ask that no more than 2 people visit at any time, with a maximum of 1 visit per week at arranged times. You will be asked to leave your shoes in the front room and sanitize. If you have visited the vet office, been exposed to Parvo, or been to a dog park in the last 10 days, please do not visit. this is in the best interest of your puppies and other dogs at the kennel.

Deworming

We administer deworming at 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks of age. this service is included in whelping cost. Pyrantel is used week 2 and 4. Safeguard is used week 6 and 8.

Whelping Contract

Shardae Townsend Kennels agrees to take excellent care of the female and her puppies during the entire whelping process. We will use every precaution available to ensure the dogs re healthy, happy and well socialized. Please understand that some things are unpreventable no matter how well they are taken care of such as still births, fading puppy syndrome and bad mothering instincts. The female and puppies will have access to 24hr vet services and the owner will be notified immediately of any situation that should arise. All charges that may occur during this time will be paid in full by the owner upon receipt from the vet. Shardae Townsend Kennels will not be responsible for any injury, sickness and/or death that is considered a normal and unpreventable occurrence when whelping puppies. If STK is found to be at fault due to neglect and/or not seeking the proper care for the female/puppies, then a reimbursement of any monies paid to Shardae Townsend Kennels for the whelping service will be compensated.

Whelping Services DO NOT Include:

  • Litter Registrations (AKC or UKC)
  • Dog Food, Additives, Milk Supplements
  • Puppy Packets containing copies of applicable proof of clearances for sire and dam, titles or registrations on sire and dam, guarantees for pups

What to bring with you when you drop your female off.

  • Proof of current vaccinations (Please send a week before)
  • Food that she is currently eating
  • Any supplements and medicine
